It now seems pretty much official that I will be going to Taiwan for a week to meet with some of my suppliers from work. It’s all happening towards the end of August. After three and a half years at the company, and having been looking after these suppliers for about half of that – I am grateful, but can’t help but feel a sense of “well it’s about bloody time”. This will be my first overseas work trip. It will be weird meeting with all these people that I only as names in emails. I think it will be interesting for them too, all the Japanese & Taiwanese people who come over here through work are all (and I mean without fail) completely intrigued by my big belly. Whatever will they do should there come a time when it’s not there…
I know I will have basically no time to be a tourist, but I realise that I know practically nothing about Taiwan. Will try to pick up a Mandarin phrase book over the next couple of weeks.
