July 27th, 2007Well folks, we’re off to Womad today for a long weekend of all manner of interesting world music. Am particularly excited about the prospect of seeing Peter Gabriel tonight..
However I can’t help but feel an impending sense of doom as the heavy rains have taken their toll on the festival site over the past week and even the festival organisers are telling us to prepare for mud… The forecast for the next three days is not great, which doesn’t help.
I’m dreadfully underprepared in terms of wet weather gear, something I intend to remedy this morning before we head off – just hope it’s not a case of too little, too late.
I’m looking at this as an adventure. Yeah, that’s the one – think positive Brian…
A few changes
July 26th, 2007Yes, the site is looking a little (a lot) different today.
I’ve had a few things all happen at once which have kinda messed with my online existence.
My webhost migrated Polliweb to a new server – something must have gone wrong as my site failed to display after the move. Despite the files physically being on the new server, and my DNS setting being redirected correctly, the bugger just wouldn’t appear. Several sessions with the very pleasant support staff failed to resolve the problem.
Round about the same time I started to receive masses of spam email – not just to the one account – but several accounts – many of which should not be publicly available – so something has gotten in somewhere..
Although my site wouldn’t display, I could still log into Blogger from which I publish my posts – and in there I could see that something had gotten in and was posting spam posts onto my blog.
So I’ve migrated the blog across to WordPress. Text seems to have come across OK, but have lost links to many images. So far I love WordPress – let’s see how we go.
All in all I’ve got a bit of reconstructing to do. I have all my data, it’s just a case of fiddling around and setting up my pages/photo gallery again. So please bear with me while I sort this out.
Gee, what a whingy post that was. But then again it has been a difficult week.
On a brighter note am off to Womad tomorrow. If the weather holds out it will be an awesome weekend. If it doesn’t – welcome to the mudbath.
